Problem learning this plane

I bought FC3 because partly because of its planes supposedly easier to learn. But that is not my impression. So far I'm unable to make any mission or instant action flight.

I'm confused about this,

In the weapon store panel I see many stations with green lights in the upper row but none in the lower. Are that not supposed to be a lit green light in the lower left when the weapon is selected ? I see weapons on the stores but seem unable to fire them.

I'm supposed to use release weapons for bombs and missiles right ? Pressing this assigned button seem to change mode instead.

In the instant action how do you succeed ? I always get shot down here and in the mission. I have seen the tutorial videos.

Am I better of spending time on learning the A10C (which I have) with its interactive tutorials ?

The FC planes are considered easier because they require less button pressing and because there are less systems to learn.

 

However the converse to that is that the full DCS planes have lots of nifty features than can make your life easier once you learn about them, so I can see how someone would actually considering the DCS planes easier to learn in some cases.

 

I don't fly the A-10A often so I can't recall how the weapons panel work, but weapon release is the same for bombs and missiles. The gun has its own button. Some weapons need the trigger to be held for a second or two before they actually launch.

 

As for the assigned button not working, could there be a conflict in the controls? You can try copying the A-10A's input folder somewhere and then delete the original and see if that fixes the controls. There's also the DCS repair option in the updater.
