Hello!

MiG-21BIS manual mentions “kgf” however is it exactly equal to weight in kg?

I’m surprised because empty aircraft weight in DCS is 1000 kg more (6300 kg) than according to the manual (5300 expressed in kg!) and according to the manual which the DCS manual is based on an aircraft without external stores (but still full fuel and cannon I suppose) or aircraft carrying missiles should weigh 7000 kgf but in game it weighs 9000 kg without external stores or with two missiles.

So it seems the DCS data does not match DCS manual or actual manual in kg measurements or kgf measurements.

I want to determine maximum acceptable G and other data which depends on stores and weight. Some values are mentioned in the manual but are contradicted by diagrams and based on all data available in the actual/DCS manual it seems 8G is only allowed:

No external stores or carrying missiles (2, I assume), 50% fuel (and 100% cannon I assume) and 0-ish meters altitude flying at exactly Mach 0.8.

A smaller 5G is apparently allowed when carrying anything except big drop tanks (4G) and several other exceptions mentioned in the manual (3G) supposedly with 100% fuel and 100% cannon and 5000 meters altitude around Mach 0.8 (-1G at 0.7, +1G at 0.9) however no data is available at altitude 10000 meters or above though apparently you must be going at more than Mach 1.0 and allowed G drops to around 2G at maximum altitude under most conditions it seems.

I hope Mach and speed values in the manual are much more general! Apparently it is so and only acceptable G is very dependent on both weight, altitude and mach.

I only want to establish some operational procedures so I know how to fly the aircraft more or less correctly.

Some work using the search function (yes, it's the real one): http://www.avialogs.com/en/aircraft/ussr/mikoyangurevitch/mig-21/mig-21bis-pilot-s-flight-operating-instructions.html#download

From my experience I can tell you pulling 6G's with a full AG load, you will find yourself loosing your stores. SOP's include a safe margin which you can get from the real life Manual above.
