Hi,

I have run into a problem with the A10C Cap Loz Helios profile I was using in DCS and really would appreciate some help with it. I managed to get the profile set up and working (including viewports) but now for some reason the viewports have all gone blank. They were working fine one week then the next they just came up blank. I did purchase/download the Aviojet and accompanying update around the time in between when they were working fine and when they were not, has anything been changed in that update/module download that has affected my touchscreen this way? Has anyone else run into this problem? How can I fix it?

Also I should mention that when I first set up the profile and got the touchscreen working for the MFDs etc the MFDs in the cockpit went blank when using the A10C without the touchscreen and worked fine when using that touchscreen but later on (probably after a subsequent update of DCS World) came back on when using the A10C with no touchscreen. Hope that makes sense.

If anyone could help me with this I would very much appreciate it as this is my first time setting up a Helios profile and I am still trying to learn how it all works. The touchscreen I am using is a Viewsonic TD2420 27inch screen.

Thanks,

OZTRIPWIRE

G'day ozTRipwiRE,

Gotta love the touchscreen and Helios, just got mine a few weeks ago and got everything setup great, after the update, nothing worked properly, as you describe...

If you got to you main directory for DCS World you should see some directories like...

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_backup.001 or _backup.002 etc, numbered sequentially.

Every time you install an update, any non-standard default files the install finds it puts them in these numbered backup directories. ( I am up to _backup.008 ) You should find your modified files in the latest backup directory. You will need to re-instate them/copy them back to the correct directories again to get your Helios config to work again. At least that is what I found happened to me with the latest update.

A slight inconvenience but at least it puts all your modded files into a convenient backup directory.

Hope that gets you back on track.

Cheers,

I have had the Loz profile and Helios running for about one year with no problems from any updates. However, I do use JSGME to uninstall several files before each update and then reinstall them, especially the export file in the saved games directory and the Lua inits in the game for the various viewports.

Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 .

Thanks for advice

Hi BrassEm and sobe,

Thanks very much for your advice. I reinstated the modded files and got my viewports back up and running like before.
