Burnerski Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I have really been enjoying using Oculus with FC3 and am looking forward to better resolution. One of the things about Oculus is its hard to do FC3 demos that demonstrate the Rift in action. Its hard to even to put the rift on someone else for demonstration purposes because I can't see what the other person is seeing. Well I was doing some formation flying in the F15 with the rift and was amazed at the feeling of immersion and wished I could share to help promote Eagle Dynamics and Oculus. After I exited the mission I attempted to save it as a demo, its hard to do but it can be done. I then ran the replay on the flat screen and was unimpressed, then wondered what the replay would look like under the oculus. It was very disorienting but I pushed the 5 key on the number pad to recenter the view. Nirvana I now had head tracking but the aircraft was flying the demo, just like flying in the front seat of a two seat aircraft for a demo ride.
smirkza Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Regarding your comment about seeing what your friend is seeing, try using Open Broadcaster Software. Causes no real drop in fps and allows you (and everyone else in the room) to watch their rift view on your primary monitor. Guide here - http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2csb3a/using_obs_for_mirroring_the_rift_tips_and_issues/ Hope this helps! (PS - Don't be alarmed if this thread vanishes, it will probably simply have been merged in to the main Oculus Rift thread) Cheers, Smirkza
hannibal Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 make sure you are supersampling ( i.e. run DCS at 1440p so that it is down-sampled to DK2's 1080p display.. find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
