Hi all! I will be visiting California and Nevada on Summer, and I'd like to know whether there are any nice air museums worth visiting there. I had the opportunity to visit the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian air museum last year and it was just impressive! Specially when used to the humility of European ones.

Thank you!

The Pima air museum in Tucson is excellent. B-36, B-29, about the only F-107 in the world, Shackleton, an exceptionally well preserved Ki-43 Oscar, and about a million others. There's a Wikipedia entry that has the full list. It's also right near the Davis Monthan AFB bone yard. And there's a museum- converted IBM site (Titan missile) from the 60s about a half hour to the south... but I guess it might be farther east than you're looking for

At Chino Airport near LA, you can see a nice variety of stuff. I'm aware of two different museums there. Lots of flying warbirds on the field, too. Nothing can beat the Smithsonian though, that's a religious experience.

Thanks for the recommendations, some of them fall away from my route but I can definitively try those near to LA, LV or SF. I've read that the most impressive museum is the USAF Museum in Ohio, but it's difficult to get there unless you travel specifically for it, it's in the middle of nowhere.

Regards!
