sobe Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 On my joystick, I have the "w" assigned to the wheel brake which is #97 on the console diagram. I also have my pedals assigned (as a pulse command) in the axis section to the wheel brake lever that is #8 in the diagram (next to the joystick). My question is-what is the difference between the wheel brake (w) and the wheel brake lever? Should I change the wheel brake lever command from a pulse to a hold command? NeilWillis Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The W key will give you digital control - in other words fully on or fully off. The pedals give you analogue control - variable application from zero to 100%. Either work, but it is always preferable to have the ability to feather brakes, or the wheels may just lock up, and cause a loss of control.

In a pulse command, does it stay open or closed until you press again? Britchot Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Pulse command would only blip the wheel brake once even if you hold the key down, it's not a latching lever. Stay with the option where you hold the key/button and the command is repeated, if you let go, it stops. Reksi-Erkki Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm using a toe brake axis for wheel brakes - it works, but a joystick handle would obviously be the way to go. Don't have that, unfortunately. Is there any software to convert an axis to PWM for digital brakes? At least the Su-27 could use that... I've pretty much given up with it, can't get to the runway without a blown tire. Dear Shilka. I hate you so very very much. Love, Rex
