I've been away from the game for a while, and have forgotten some things. The problem I'm having now concerns the MFD radar.

I remember that you were able to see enemy and friendly aircraft. They were represented by symbols in the MFD .

I don't remember how to set this up and is this still possible? Can some one please explain to me how I can accomplish this...

Thank you guys you've all been really helpful in helping me get back into the game.

Varies with plane. For all FC3 fighters, press 2 to enter BVR mode and then press i to turn the radar on. In Russian planes, friendlies are 2 bars on HUD or a circle on the MFD. Hostiles are a single bar on the HUD or a triangle on the MFD. The width of the bar on the HUD indicates the target size. I don't remember off hand what the F-15 shows, but it's similar.

On the MiG-21, friendlies are 2 bars, enemies are 1 bar but you must activate IFF, which only lasts a few seconds before switching back off. You cannot activate IFF while locked on a target, you must be in search mode. It can be used with various filters however.

Your radar is displayed on your Hud. The mfd you're referring to is called the HDD, head down display. It is just a datalink display showing contacts found by your radar and also contacts sent to you via link. It also acts as a waypoint and airbase display.

This is only avaliable now for Flankers, Mig-29s no longer have this feature, they have just a Hud repeater.
