Hello,

has someone experience in using a RaspPi as a controller for a pannel? I think to build a a box which sends inputs (buttons, triggers and dials) from the RaspPi to DCS (maybe compatible with all sims).

Can someone help me figuring out if this is possible?

Yes, it is possible. This one uses DCS-BIOS, so it would only work with DCS.

If you are using the Raspberry Pi 2, you may even get Helios running on it at some point, because you can run Windows 10 on it -- that may help with the "compatible with all sims" idea. You could also write software that runs on the DCS PC, listens for input over the network and simulates key presses.

I experimented a bit quite some time ago, but never got the touchscreen I ordered...

The idea was to use a custom web server (http://desrat.lightning-bolt.net/TouchDown/) on the PC running the sim, and a set of pages with buttons / other controls that would, when pressed, generate a keypress to the sim.

It did work in testing, but using a mouse wasn't at all practical. I also had some problems with Java(script) on the RPi.

I've also thought of using Helios with RPi2 - hardware is in the mail, waiting for Microsoft :)

Dear Shilka. I hate you so very very much. Love, Rex
