mytai01 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) I noticed (by mistake) that I could start and restart the engine without turning the fuel pumps on. I started a mission and turned everything on for takeoff except the fuel pumps. I taxied out to the runway and when I ran the engine up to take-off power it died. I thought it was a feature of the latest patch, so I restarted the engine and ran it up to 85% thinking I pushed the throttle too fast the first time and began take-off roll. Well, as it was going down the runway it died again. I didn't have time to figure it out and had to leave. When I came back I realized that I forgot to turn the fuel pumps on, but then wondered why I was able to turn the engine on more than once after it ran out of gas. Isn't that a flaw in the program? Shouldn't it run out of gas once then not be able to re-start until it's tanks are filled? xxJohnxx Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Nah, turbines, as opossed to diesel engines, can run dry without a problem. If you increase rpm over 85% without having the fuel pumps on, you will not have the engine running dry either. You just feeding too little fuel, causing a flameout. This doesn't mean that the system is completly dry. So on restarting there is enough fuel in the system for the engine operated pump to start pumping fuel. So I think it is no really a bug and I assume it works as intended. Check out my YouTube: xxJohnxx Intel i7 6800k watercooled | ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 | 32 GB RAM | Asus GTX1080 watercooled
