sixto Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Hello. I want to buy a new gaming graphic card, and im thinking in buy a 970 gtx g1 . I have a i52500k cpu. Can somebody tell me if could be any bottleneck problem with this game and this hardware configuration ? thanks very much.
PureEvil Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 shouldn't be a problem. cpu's are always bottlenecks with this game, newer generation won't bring you much joy, but overclocking 2500k will. Pilotasso Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I have this combo, the 2500K remains a force to be reckoned with. Butter smooth gaming on this side. :) .
BitMaster Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 OC it ! a 2500k loves OC, check google for it Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
powstaniec Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi, oc depends on you motherboard chipset. Should be a "Z" Chipset if you want oc your cpu significant. i5-4670K @Stock - 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600 - GigaByte GTX 750TI 2GB - GigaByte HD3 - Z87 - Logitech Attack 3 :megalol:
Demon_ Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) The "Z" chipset combines the performance features of the "P" with the onboard graphics options of the "H" chipset. Overclocking ability depends on your mobo's power phase circuitry. Edited March 8, 2015 by Demon_ Attache ta tuque avec d'la broche.
powstaniec Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Z97-vs-H97-What-is-the-Difference-562/ "Z" Chipset is build for oc. There are some mobo`s with h chipset which allow oc but the z is made for the k models. Demon_ Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I think there is no relation between the capacity for overclocking the cpu and the chipset since we don't overclock the bus system. Motherboard: 4 Phase digital power design (Light overclocking) Less than 4Ghz. 8 Phase digital power design (Medium overclocking) 4.5Ghz. 12 Phase digital power design (Heavy overclocking) More than 4.5Ghz. 16 Phase digital power design (Extreme) 5Ghz. powstaniec Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 oc the bus or ram clock. furthermore it `s possible to unpark a core or undervolt but to change the multiplicator of the cpu u need the z version i5-4670K @Stock - 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600 - GigaByte GTX 750TI 2GB - GigaByte HD3 - Z87 - Logitech Attack 3 :megalol:
Pilotasso Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Please do not insist on misleading info. You can Overclock with earlier chipsets using the CPU multiplier alone. .
BitMaster Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 oc the bus or ram clock. furthermore it `s possible to unpark a core or undervolt but to change the multiplicator of the cpu u need the z version There is no "Z" version forn the P8 or P67 Chipset respectively afaik. The Z and K naming with at least Asus boards came later with the 77series chipsets. You can safely NOT mess with the FSB and go real high with multiplier alone. It doesnt usually give you a single frame more to squeeze the last 50-100MHz out of ma CPU but Voltage and Wattage rises more than you gain and 90MHz more can mean from 110Watt to 125Watt, I dont think that is worth it. Asus recommends to not use FSB OC and if you do, do 1MHz steps only. You need high quality everything if you OC FSB as in old days, any clock that is derived there of will clock higher, from your PS2 & RS232 chip to USB3 Addon Chips, Marvell, Soundcard, etc etc.. they all have to be HAPPY with your new FSB or one of them will swing the red card. It´s OK to do it tosee what`s all in there, but u should dial back a few MHz for everyday stress free booting and gaming. I go 4.8GHz instead of 4.9 or 5, way more wattage and very little extra FPS. PureEvil Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Kind of wrong again, i've got z68 with P8. STEAM asus p8z68-v gen3, 2600k@4,5ghz(w/c), 16gb, 1080ti(w/c), ch fighterstick/gvl224-4000-8, ch pro throttle, Oculus Rift CV1+Touch, thrustmaster tx
BitMaster Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) you are correct with the naming convention on the 77...my fault :book: There used to be a time when I could tell all cars at night by their headlights... that is long ago, too many models these days. Seems to me that there are also too many boards and GPUs and what not else around for my head:cry: Edited March 11, 2015 by BitMaster Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
