Weta43 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Hi - I think my Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick is getting to the end of it's life & I'd like to get something to replace it. I'd like to stick with a FFB stick, preferably one with more than 8 buttons all up. which reminds me - how do you non-FFB stick user judge that just on the edge of too much alpha thing without feeling the plane start to vibrate through the stick? Any body got any recomendations? Cheers.
Nate Dogg Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 well, firstly how do you know that your ff2 is getting to the end? mine is still solid as ever. Hell i wish it would break so i could have an excuse to by th CH fighterstick! Second, i don't use FF anyway as it decreased preformance heaps in lockon and in IL2 the vibrations made my shooting really bad! For memory i don't think there are any decent ones out there. Ive seen many logitech ones die and can't really think of any other FF ones. Id be temped to sell you mine if the price was right! Im in australia so it isn't that far. cheers
Vati Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Weta43, I have been through the same path as you are. I've tried all FFB models on the market and there is unfortunately no other FFB joystick up to the quality as the model you own. http://www.condorsoaring.com
Gunja Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 yes, Vati is right. I own SideWinder2 as well and i'm happy with it but x52 wouldnt hurt though :) If you try it without FFB, you will see that you are more precise in flight and very soon ffb wont matter any more. It is actualy easyer without it. For example when you stall, your ffb stick will have no resistance and you will find your self turning too much making stall even worse. If you turn it off, you'll see what i'm talking about. You will find graphics (cockpit vibrations, blackout) and audio (warning signals) feedback just enough to know what's going on. To turn FFB off go to: LockOn\Config\producer --> open it with notepad and change true to false try it this way and I bet you'll stay that way.
