Rise Tragedy Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) A previous thread in the mods section popped up regarding the current way flares act in DCS and caused me to make this thread. Is there any particular reason that the flares were changed from the way they were pre-1.2.12, to what they are now? I don't remember seeing anything in the change log regarding any change in the first place. The flares currently don't seem to act like they do in real life, in the context of how they flow through the air, the size of the flare itself, and the trail the flare leaves behind. ex.: Also, if someone could possible direct me towards the necessary files to edit to MAYBE make them look/act a little more realistically, that would be perfect. Thank you guys! Apples Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Think its here! Bazar\Effects\RenderEffects\Textures folder. If you change the shape then the motion of the texture will have to be changed, thats in the partsys folder i believe. If i recall Bonedust made a flare mod a while back, he would probley know more of what you can do. JayPee Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Flares.TGA is an empty white/transparent file.. I'm guessing it's a legacy file w/o a purpose and by now flares are generated elsewhere? i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
