msalama Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 As per the title :) I'm an unaffiliated flyer and don't want to join a squad at this point, but are there any public servers for independent flyers out there? Thanks for any info you'd care to share! The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Ultra Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I like to play on "The Korean War!" server. It's a very nice setup. I think it's East Coast U.S.
msalama Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks, I'll check it out. S! The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

dooom Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 if you are flying the pony and like ground pounding, you should come check out the DoW server... happy to have independent fliers. Ultra Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I played Galahad's Korea server for the first time. It's similar to "The Korean War!" Server, in a good way. But I think Galahad also makes better use of AI, and he has a nice scoring system that is based on ground attack. Definitely worth checking out, I just don't know how often it is online and I'm not sure if there is a TeamSpeak channel.

Definitely worth checking out, I just don't know how often it is online and I'm not sure if there is a TeamSpeak channel. Thanks for the feedback. That is my server and mission, but it is also running my main laptop so I can't keep it up too often until I find a permanent solution or build a new server. For the time being, I'm putting the server up at around 1800 to 1900 EST, and pulling it down in the morning when I need to use my laptop again. The mission is still very WIP, so the server is up mainly to test the scheduled AI spawns and behavior as well as to run stress tests on the mission. For Teamspeak, I'm kinda unofficially and entirely by chance piggy-backing on the DoW teamspeak server for the times when I'm online (in the "Other DCS channel"). There isn't a dedicated Teamspeak for the server yet. That said, I must also echo dooom with the recommendation of the DoW server for ground pounding with the P-51D, unless you truly want to run with jets, then it's my server (when it's up) for the best experience... and that is a totally (un)biased opinion.
msalama Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Thanks all, will check all these out in due time. S! The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
