I made a video explaining the basic usage of a few systems in the MI-8. It covers the doppler hover meter, drift indicator, and navigation system. In addition to the doppler system, the tutorial also covers ADF navigation using the ARC-9 for navigation between NDBs, and navigation with the ARC-UD for search and rescue operations.

I've finally figured out how to get youtube to take my video at a proper resolution, so it's even in HD. How fancy. ;)

If you can give an accurate count the number of "uhms" and "ahs" in this video, I'll give you an internet cookie. It's hard to fly and talk at the same time, while simultaneously looking deliberately away from where you're going.

Hope this comes in handy for some people. :pilotfly:

Cool beans, I will be sure to watch. I won't bother to count the uhs and ahms though... I do the same thing.

Edit- You REALLY should make this public, Socket7. This was VERY VERY informative!

Well done. Those two mods are must haves in my opinion for anyone flying the Hip (unless of course you already understand cyrillic.) That scenery mod is nothing short of amazing.

What's next on the mission making agenda Socket7?

I really don't know. There are a couple search and rescue missions that people have already made that are pretty awesome, picking up people from a sinking ship and stuff. I've got my work cut out for me.

Maybe something with time sensitive sling loading , if scripting can support it.
