I am happy to announce the 1st and 2nd official landings of the MiG-21 at the small airstrip next to kutaisi a.k.a (lil sochi) on virtual-aerobatics server

Hello, how much of fuel you have during your approach, on the video?

Challenge Accepted!

 

Attempt 4: Partial success!

 

 

Overun of the runway was arrested by the building. For being wooden, it's a seriously strong nosecone on the '21.

 

Attempt 7ish: Challenge Completed!

 

 

No chute landing. 'Twas only my 7th (?) attempt!

 

Calls for a seriously flat landing approach, airbrakes out all the way, wheel brakes already pressed and ready to go. Normal proceedures be damned.

 

Included a track of all the attempts for proof, it's not too exciting and please do excuse the one attempt where I came up seriously short :D

 

For reference, aircraft was set up with 40% fuel, no payloads and no gun ammo. Might have been easier with 20% fuel.

I can't say for this video because I have no idea. :D

 

But I spawn at Batumi, so whatever fuel you get with that option, and then usually travel to this runway with subsonic speed. You could try to get your fuel down to under 1 ton by afterburning for some part of the flight, the less fuel you have at touch-down the better. Just remember that the MiG-21 drinks like a Bacchus reveler. ;-)
