otto Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I'm curious. Comparing g6 with g10,14 which one turned better ? I think k4 was the worst turning plane.
DB 605 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I'm curious. Comparing g6 with g10,14 which one turned better ? I think k4 was the worst turning plane. Judging by weight G6 would be best. However i don't know how much other changes affected so i'm not totally sure. Kurfürst Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 My bet would be on the G-14 at low altitudes, K-4 at high altitudes - though the fully boosted 2000 PS K-4 would be probably beat them all. http://www.kurfurst.org - The Messerschmitt Bf 109 Performance Resource Site Vezérünk a bátorság, Kísérőnk a szerencse! -Motto of the RHAF 101st 'Puma' Home Air Defense Fighter Regiment The Answer to the Ultimate Question of the K-4, the Universe, and Everything: Powerloading 550 HP / ton, 1593 having been made up to 31th March 1945, 314 K-4s were being operated in frontline service on 31 January 1945.
Ala13_ManOWar Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Wing loading tell us best turning 109 was Bf109B by far   . About G-K models, I think weight has probably the last word on absolute turning radius, but I'm not completely sure G6-14 (same aircraft after all) had the lighter weight. Also K4 had a lower useful wing area with those big bulbs, so... They were probably close but I wouldn't bet for anyone. S! Kurfürst Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Indeed as IIRC the 109B had a sustained turn time of around 16 sec or so. http://www.kurfurst.org - The Messerschmitt Bf 109 Performance Resource Site Vezérünk a bátorság, Kísérőnk a szerencse!
