Tacview

Hi all

 

Need some help with tacview. I have purchased it however when how do I open .trk files? For some reason when I try to open DCS tracks in tacview I get a message that the file is empty.

 

Obviously it needs to be converted into a format that tacview can read however I dont see how to do it.

 

Any help would be appreciated

you don't use tacview to open trk files. it should, by itself, record your session (unless it's MP) to an ACMI file and save it to a location on your HDD.

Mine are saved to <username>\saved games\tacview.

recording should be on at default but maybe you need to turn it on for DCS. Look in the top row of tacview, there should be an option to record, and you can verify by a little DCS icon in lower right corner. If its there it records.

Many MP servers disable exports as an anticheat mechanism. As such tacview cant generate acmis automatically from them. You'll see that those acmi file sizes are only 1kb.

 

To view those acmis you first have to run the MP track (automatically saved) as replays for tacview to generate the acmis.
