Dogman Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Hi Guys I am having a problem with DCS crashing my computer on mission exit. It started about a week ago and I had not installedor updated any software prior except for standard Windows updates. It can be any mission and when I exit I get a black screen and while the computer is still running I am unable to alt/tab to other applications or even ctrl/alt/del to get to the Task Manager. I attempted a repair that did not fix the issue so then did a complete deinstall / reinstall and reloaded all the modules. I then set up a mission and on exit the same thing happened so now I am really in trouble. I have read many posts related to DCS crashing on exit but they usually result in a dialogue box advising that DCS has crashed and they are just clicked through and then DCS is restarted. My issue is different because I require a complete system restart to get back to the simulator. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts on what I should try next to over come this very frustrating issue. AtaliaA1 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Sounds like U may be running short on graphics memory. Can U put another GPU in and try to repeat the error? Barrow one from a friend or if U have been considering the purchase of a new one got something with 2 or more gigs. of Video Ram in it. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Dogman Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Thanks Atalia I'll see what I can do about changing out the GPU to see if that makes any difference. After further testing the issue has become intermittent some times it does sometimes it doesn't. Will advise this thread with the outcome. Dogman Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 This issue seems to have resolved itself and I have no idea why. Have been testing for the last couple of days and have had no further system crashes when exiting missions. It would appear that the planets have aligned in my favor at last. Thanks all for your suggestions and support.
