Tidji Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Yesterday i was training to land on Sukhumi in bad weather with the help of the divert page and putting the waypoint parameters on NAV 3D, COMPUTED VANGLE and SCALE on APPROACH. I was surprised that the computed angle was 1.5° which give a flat approach. I remember havind used this method a few weeks ago and the computed angle was 3° which seems to be a better value. Can someone tell me if he has the same angle or if i am missing something in my method ?
Rongor Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Wouldn't the computed angle result from the waypoint you are coming from, respectively your current 3D position?
Tidji Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Your answer may me think about the method i use. I first set NAV 3D then set VANGLE to COMPUTED and at least SCALE to APPROACH. For the angle to be well computed i probably have to set the SCALE on APPROACH fisrt. I'll try and see if it is better.
Tidji Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 After reading more carefully the manual, it seems you are right :"When COMPUTED is selected, vertical steering will be automatically computed between the TO and FROM points."
