WildBillKelsoe Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Stuck in stillness mission 2. Some thoughts: 1- reduce enemy and friendly units count to optimize gameplay performance. 2- reduce enemy air to air superior R-24 missile carriage to better use guns in 1-1 3- reduce total aircraft units so AWACS does not spam the radio. 4- perhaps remove AWACS as enemy units tend to converge on it, place a EWR GCI instead. Every time I get a missile if I'm very high, or the other flights take and give kills, leaving me stuck at 49% completion. Question: does flying above 26000 feet when smoke trails of engine start to appear makes a missile more pronounced in visibility at least to avoid it in latter stages motorless inertial flight? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
1.JaVA_Platypus Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I agree! In the campaign, you sometimes have to go up against MiG-29s! And who is friendly is not always clear. For instance, The F-15's are on our side, but the F-18's are not? p.s. Try to edit this mission and add a flight of F-14's with Phoenix missiles and more SAM's for your side as well. Happy Flying! :pilotfly:
WildBillKelsoe Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Guess what. I finished it without firing a shot. All AI took care of eachother, with just one Mirage 2000 down, the rest is all REDFOR fatalitites :D I guess I could edit it to remove aircrafts from both sides, limiting to SEAD interception of one package and setting a condition of being alive as both for 100% completion. For AWACS I think no need under these conditions, just an EWR vectoring me should be fine. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Mike5560 Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 If it's the night one where you scramble to respond to enemy jamming......yeah I've done this one four times already, last time I splashed 2 bandits, and a third opponent crashed into a mountain trying to get his nose on me.... and didn't find anyone else even though AWACS was spamming the freq.. I landed on fumes after giving up on the bandit calls. Overall I felt pretty satisfied with the outcome, but I will have to do it again.....along with the long movement flight.
