jocko417 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Also in the pipeline: Canadair Sabre F.4 XB813 "M" of No. 229 OCU (Operational Conversion Unit)
jocko417 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 Still tweaking the colours but here's the RAF pilot progress... Silver Mk.1A helmet, 1950s vintage blue-grey flying suit, orange Frankenstein life preserver, pearl white kid leather flying gloves... Sabre Mk.4 Pilot's Notes on kneeboard. Might try to add the white doodle board on the right thigh of the flying suit.
Vespa Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Oustanding jocko! Can't wait to get it. Does this Aircraft use the same dark cockpit of italian version?
jocko417 Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Yes. Virtual cockpit is done, just have to do the external view cockpit, then I can start cranking them out at speed ;)
jocko417 Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Progress: Tweaking marking colours, etc. I've solved the black cockpit texture issue I was having, although the fix is a bit more in depth than the usual skin DL, involved changing the default cockpit textures in the Mods directory... still making some minor changes. Note the barber pole markings on the drop tank VNE needle, no pitch markings on the ADI as per the day fighter role.
jocko417 Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Templates just about finished. Sabre F.4 XB938, "D" of No. 3 Squadron, RAF, 2nd Tactical Airforce, based at Geilenkirchen, West Germany, circa 1955. Pilots of 3 Squadron wore dyed-black flying suits, and at least one photo shows a green helmet to match the squadron colours.

jocko417 Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 Uploaded: Canadair Sabre F.4 XB867, 234 Sqn. RAF Awaiting approval. Slight update to version posted above, 234 squadron documentation states that the aircraft code letters were red with a thin black outline. However, any period photos show the letters as basic white, regardless of time of day, angle of lighting, etc. so white it is... :)
