Morning, for hours I have been tinkering around with my X55 profile through the Saitek software. Watching YOUTUBE videos etc. All is going pretty well except for the rotary dials on the throttle. I want them to be floodlight adjustments or similar. Really not working though.

Also any idea why I cant click the profile button for the throttle, its just grey out?

What I remember from the X52 Pro stick is that you don't want them as directional axis but as bands. Does the SST software offer this settings for the X55? Try that..

As GurbY said you need to set them as bands:

BTW make sure you use the "New advanced command" for axis keybinds, otherwise you will have buttons being pressed down all the time and most likely your profile will not work. (You will notice my airbrake is set "the wrong way". If you wan't that make sure there is a deadzone.)

I had many problems with the software so choose to enter commands directly into the simulator and from ahy zero problems .... :music_whistling:

Yeah thats what I did for Mode 1 . You still need keyboard binds for mode 2 and 3 (If you wan't to use them). Also rotaries needs keyboard commands. But if you set all this right you won't have any problems either and you'll have almost 3 times more buttons to play with.

no you don't. Just clear the loaded profile from HUD (right click icon in taskbar and hit 'clear') then the game can see the rotary knob (treats it as 3 buttons) and you can click the "add modifier" button in the bottom-left of the controls binding page. I've done it this way since the first day i got my x55, and it is so much better than trying to fool around with the Saitek programming software.

Sorry, thats not what I mean't. I have used the mode selector knob as buttons before, but now I wanted some more buttons to play with = less clicking in the cockpit. So currently I'm using all the three modes for 3-times more buttons. You can't achieve that without the poor Saitek HUD program. :(

Edit: Wait what?!? Now I read your post again. So using your method I would only need my HUD program for binding keyboard commands to rotaries, holy sh*t. Thanks! :)
