Steinsch Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Hi, I've been playing with the mission editor for a couple of weeks. Quite a fun and powerful tool! There is still a type of simple scenario I can't seem to be able to create. I'd like an AI aircraft to be able to land at an airfield, refuel and rearm, take-off again and follow its next way points. Is it possible? Steinsch Steinsch Flying Virtual F-15s since 1989 YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/CommanderSteinsch
Exorcet Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 You will either need LUA scripting to respawn the unit, or make a copy of it and activate that copy when the original lands. Once AI lands, it is done. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
Steinsch Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Hey guys, Thanks for the pointers. I don't feel confident messing around with scripting, but at least I know where I stand. Copy activation will be the way to go for now! Steinsch Flying Virtual F-15s since 1989 YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/CommanderSteinsch
