Drewa
Find a good program like MSI Afterburner. Play DCS or some other game that you think would benefit. If you are maxing out your ram, then yes definitely upgrade, but if you don't use any more than 7-7.5 Gb, you should be totally fine. More ram only helps performance if you are maxing out the quantity you already have. "Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Joni
Hi Drewa I do use afterburner and riva as well, DCS maxed out doesnt use more than 6gb, but ive seen a lot of recomendations in this forum about getting 16gigs. Any ideas why? Drewa
16Gb wouldn't hurt. What is your preload distance at? This is the biggest impactor of RAM usage I think. "Wikipedia is the best thing ever. T_A
You dont need a special program, Windows 7 and above has a built in program called Resource monitor. (you can find it in the Task Manager under Performance Tab or just search for it in the start menu) it will tell you (among many other things) what is the peak memory usage. Joni
Like i said, it only uses as much as 6. but thats not the thing, ram usage is dependant on availability, so thats why i was considering on having more. thanks.
