When I open a campaign mission - sometimes it crashes and then works after 3-4 retries.

When I open BS in training or other missions - works fine.

So I'm thinking something wrong with the campaign mission cache - as i wrote it does open it eventually.

Any help?

Hi, do you have any crash logs you could share with us?

Here's the log file - the uploader doesn't accept .log files for some reason..renamed it .txt

There's also crash and dump files - not sure whether they're helpful.

thanks, if you right click your logs folder you can zip it and attach it here at the forums, it will hopefully contain the crash files, also if you have a track file that would be great.

I'm still having this problem when I start my campaign - intermittently - sometimes takes 4+ tries before it works.

I cleared my temp\dcs and logs folder.

Attached is the contents of the logs folder on crash.

I found a work around for this issue. Go into the mission planner and change all KA50s to any paintscheme other than 'Army Standard':

This error occurred in Deployment09 as well. Again, going into the mission planner before mission start and changing the paint scheme from 'Army Standard' allowed the mission to load successfully. I did notice that the Description.Lua for that skin changed in May... FYI.

I've attached the associated files in case a dev or tester needs them for troubleshooting. Hope you guys are doing well.

Update: I deleted the Army Standard folder and allowed it to re-download. Same symptom persists. I took a look at the LUA and associated files and didn't see any obvious syntax issues.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Ummm...was that solution for my problem also?

This is the second post today where I've tried to help you and you've responded in the negative. I don't know if it will fix your problem, but the symptoms are very similar and it worked for me... give it a shot. Hope things start looking up for you pal.

Confused as to why you took my response as in the negative - seriously.

The quote in your reply was from someone else and I thought you mis-posted to the wrong thread.

Absolutely I'll try it.

Entering the mission you'll see Cancel/MissionPlanner/Fly.

  • Select MissionPlanner
  • Click each aircraft
  • Click Payload
  • Choose popdown to change paint scheme
  • Change to anything but Army Standard

If you don't see all the aircraft in the mission planner you may have to open it in the Mission Editor

  • Click KA50 on the left
  • Browse to Campaigns folder
  • Open the appropriate campaign mission
  • Click View Unit List
  • Filter for Helicopters
  • For each KA50, Click Payload
  • Choose popdown to change paint scheme
  • Change to anything but Army Standard
  • Save the mission

I seem to be having some luck with this fix...no idea why it works.

But I wasn't able to find how to save the campaign mission. How do I do that?

I know I can copy and paste the mission into a separate folder...but I don't think I'll get the mission credit and progression.

Is there a fix that can be done at a more global level?
