grunf Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 What is purpose of the small white arrow? It moves when the pressure knob is rotated, but I can't figure out what it means... There's also one on the top of the inner scale, which I've never noticed before :D
159th_Falcon Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 A guess, it shows you the pressure altitude relative to the International Standard Atmosphere? So the picture would be showing the selected pressure altitude is about 260 meters above sea level. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
grunf Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 That makes sense, thank you! So, if I understand it correctly, if I know the airport's altitude, I can turn the pressure knob until the arrow points to that altitude, and the altimeter will show my altitude above that airport, just as if I dialed the correct pressure (QFE)?
