lockon2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I just worked through the training mission: Su-27: “Missiles.miz”. At the end of the training exercise, just after I get “Launch Authorization”, LA, none of the missiles fired. Is this supposed to happen? Am I supposed to do something after LA to fire the missiles? Okay if this is how the simulation is supposed to work; I just want to make sure I’m not doing anything wrong. I tried clicking the joystick trigger, joystick weapons release, and space bar, also cycling through the combinations of the “Change Weapon” on the joystick. I went through the sequence several times, so I’m sure I didn’t make a mistake there. Some games have "Missile Release"; is that true for this plane in this module or something like it?
predattak Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) You have to hold the Joystick trigger pressed for about 1 second ..squeeze the trigger and keep it like that until it fires :) Only western aircrafts have the weapon release function in the controls. DarkFire Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 The missiles will only leave the rail if they're within the permitted launch parameters. These include a maximum G loading which in turn (if I remember correctly) is effected by roll rate. Hold down the trigger and eventually the missile will launch. The longer range missiles such as the R-27ER and -ET like being launched from low G and low roll rate conditions, whereas the R-73 is much more permissive of violent manoeuvring. lockon2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Got it, that was the trick! It works. Okay, I'll try one of the non-training missions now and see how it goes.
