BeachAV8R Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 So I'm trying to get a handle on the difference between these two rockets. According to Wiki: The S-24B is 2.33 metres (7 ft 8 in) long, with a launch weight of 235 kg (520 lb). It has a 123 kg (271 lb) blast-fragmentation warhead. But I can't find much specifically on the S-24A - is it a penetrator warhead? Regards, BeachAV8R
kmstewart64 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Its my understanding from the comments of others on here that the 24B is a better weapon. I don't have any specifics to back that up. The 24B is my favorite weapon on the Mig21 for A2G. MORG
mongol-29 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 In the operation of C-24A in the army revealed an unpleasant feature of its engines filled with gunpowder recipes RCI-60. First, during the shooting of the products of combustion of the rocket charge began to "turn off" the motor carrier. Second, some innovations in the technology of production of powder checkers that are not coordinated with the military testers, led to the fact that after shooting the MiG-21 and su-7b was returning to the airfield with thick green soot on the windshield. Reequipped according to customer's requirement ordnance missile charges from unarmored powder formulations bn-name C-24B. Mongol-29 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
