Arden Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I've been hearing a lot about the Mirage, but one thing remains rather unclear to me. In all the videos and discussions I've seen, it's said/seen that the Mirage only has 4 weapon hardpoints. However, when looking up the specs of the plane itself, it's mentioned that on top of the 4 wing hardpoints, it also has 4 hull hardpoints, plus a pylon for an external tank. Can anyone confirm that this is or is not the case in the DCS version of the plane?
Fer_Fer Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 it will have the 9 hardpoints, but only 4 are cleared for A2A ordinance..
Zeus67 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I've been hearing a lot about the Mirage, but one thing remains rather unclear to me. Can anyone confirm that this is or is not the case in the DCS version of the plane? The M-2000C has 9 hardpoints: 2 under each wing, 2 under each wing root, 1 on the fuselage center. The outermost wing pylons carry: - Magic II missiles, The center wing pylon carry: - Super 530D AA missiles, - Mk82, Mk82S, Belouga, Matra Rocket pods (only one per pylon, max 2 if the Rafaut AUF2 rack is used). - External 2000 Liters (528 gal.) fuel tank Wing root pylons carry: - Mk82, Mk82S, Belouga, GBU-12 (only one per pylon). Centerline pylon can carry: - Mk82, Mk82S, Belouga, GBU-12, GBU-16, GBU-24 (only one per pylon, max 2 if the Rafaut AUF2 rack is used; GBU-16 and GB-24 cannot be mounted on the Rafaut AUF2 rack). - External 1300 Liter (343 gal.) fuel tank Regarding the Rafaut AUF2 rack. Yes, the Mirage is rated to use it under the wings, but operationally those wing pylons are used to carry external fuel tanks and the entire bomb load is carried on the wing root and centerline hardpoints for a total of 6 bombs (4 if GBU-12s). So Max bomb load: - Mk82, Mk82S, Belouga: 10 - GBU-12: 4 - GBU-16: 1 - GBU-24: 1 Standard AG Load: - 2 External fuel tanks and either - 6 Mk82, Mk82S, Belouga or - 2 GBU-12 "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. Arden Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 So to confirm, no AA weaponry onto the wingroot pylons? Is there a specific reason for? That's too bad.

This is the RDI version and it cannot carry MICAs. The -5 and newer are RDY and MICA capable. Those can carry the MICA in the wing root pylons. jojo Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 So to confirm, no AA weaponry onto the wingroot pylons? Is there a specific reason for? That's too bad. Mica can be ejected so engine can be ignited away from the aircraft. Super 530D is too large. Magic 2 is rail launched, so if it was launched from under the air intake, there would be high probability that hot exhaust gaz would be ingested into the engine...not good ! Mirage fanatic !
