NEODARK Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Hey guys, First of all, I bought a shinny new 2407FPW LCD from dell (24" widescreen lcd) I've made the changes to the aspect ratio as needed, and have that working correctly @ 1920x1200 with a ratio of 1.6. (16:10 display) However, this only zooms the view in, so I dont get "true widescreen" just a correct aspect ratio. What I need to fix now, is FOV.. but when changing the view angle under view.cfg as stated in a post somewhere in SimHQ, upon launching the game, the FOV does not change, although the aspect ratio is correct. (so it chops some of the top and bottom to get it to fit @ the right aspect ratio) can anyone helps me with the FOV.. Thanks.
NEODARK Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 This is the original post with FOV settings: http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=146;t=000885#000004 For LO-MAC maybe i can give you a little triple-head-support, like i use it for a long time, because the FOV is not good from default. You can turn-up the maximum FOV from 120 up to 170 (!), you must change in the file \config\view\view.cfg from: ==================================== // If MouseCockpit is not set here then option value is used. // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: //MouseCockpit = 0; MouseExternal = 0; MouseSpeedSlow = 1.0; MouseSpeedNormal = 1.5; MouseSpeedFast = 3.0; KeyboardSpeedSlow = 0.5; KeyboardSpeedNormal = 3.0; KeyboardSpeedFast = 15.0; CockpitViewAngleMin = 20.0; CockpitViewAngleMax = 120.0; // If CockpitViewAngleDefault is not set here then option value is used // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: //CockpitViewAngleDefault = 60.0; ExternalViewAngleMin = 3.0; ExternalViewAngleMax = 170.0; // If ExternalViewAngleDefault is not set here then cockpit value is used // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: //ExternalViewAngleDefault = 60.0; CameraTerrainRestriction = 1; DisableSnapViewsSaving = 1; UseDefaultSnapViews = 0; ExplosionExpoTime = 4.0; CockpitSnapStepHor = 45.0; CockpitSnapStepVert = 30.0; CockpitNyMove = 1; ChazeCameraNyMove = 1; ==================================== to ==================================== // If MouseCockpit is not set here then option value is used. // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: //MouseCockpit = 0; MouseExternal = 0; MouseSpeedSlow = 0.667; MouseSpeedNormal = 1.0; MouseSpeedFast = 2.0; KeyboardSpeedSlow = 0.167; KeyboardSpeedNormal = 1.0; KeyboardSpeedFast = 5.0; CockpitViewAngleMin = 20.0; CockpitViewAngleMax = 170.0; // If CockpitViewAngleDefault is not set here then option value is used // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: CockpitViewAngleDefault = 170.0; ExternalViewAngleMin = 3.0; ExternalViewAngleMax = 170.0; // If ExternalViewAngleDefault is not set here then cockpit value is used // Remove two slashes in the next line and set your custom value: //ExternalViewAngleDefault = 60.0; CameraTerrainRestriction = 1; DisableSnapViewsSaving = 1; UseDefaultSnapViews = 0; ExplosionExpoTime = 4.0; CockpitSnapStepHor = 45.0; CockpitSnapStepVert = 30.0; CockpitNyMove = 1; ChazeCameraNyMove = 1; //Labels params LabelAirOn = 1; LabelGroundOn = 1; LabelNavyOn = 1; LabelMissileOn = 1; LabelMinDistanceAir = 100.0; LabelMaxDistanceAir = 50000.0; LabelMinDistanceGround = 100.0; LabelMaxDistanceGround = 20000.0; LabelMinDistanceNavy = 100.0; LabelMaxDistanceNavy = 50000.0; LabelMinDistanceMissile = 100.0; LabelMaxDistanceMissile = 20000.0; LabelShowName = 1; LabelShowDistance = 1; LabelShowPilotName = 0; CockpitHAngleOrigin = 0.0; CockpitVAngleOrigin = -9.5; ==================================== Important is the CockpitViewAngleMax = 170.0; CockpitViewAngleDefault = 170.0; then you can change manually the FOV with the /-Button from the Num-Field. But beware if you have full 170 you cannot see(at 2400x600 testet) the buttom-instruments at the cockpit more, because of a invisible moving-view-border. But the game its really good playble so. I have some pictures, i try to post it. Greetings and a lot of fun. I couldnt get it to work though...

Nate Dogg Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I found that the FOV doesn't work on the su 25t for some reason. Which plane are you testing on? cheers
balcer Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Try to change this lines ;) ...Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View\view.lua CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_27] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_33] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_25] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_39] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29] = {20.0, 140.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29K] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iA_10] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iF_15] = {20.0, 120.0} change 120 to hmm 140 or 160 (what You like ;) ).
GR27 Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I found that the FOV doesn't work on the su 25t for some reason. GR27 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I have TrackIR and in Lock-On FC i can zoom in / out with TrackIR but still i can't see like this when i zoom out http://forum.lockon.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=4325&d=1138774626 I see the same way i did with 3:4 screen but now the top and botem is cut, i change the aspect ratio to 1.6 in the graphics config file so i can see good in widescreen, i change the numbers in CameraViewAngleLimits in config\view\view.lua in to {20.0, 140.0}, and i change the config\view\view.cfg to CockpitViewAngleMax = 170.0; CockpitViewAngleDefault = 170.0; But no change. I also have a config\graphicsd.cfg file, is it OK, should there be this file? Can some please show me how the "config\graphics" file , the "config\view\view.lua" file, and the "config\view\view.cfg" file looks like on their " Lock On" folder? This is how my files look like: "config\graphics" : DisplayMode { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; Interface { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } Simulation { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } AVI { resolution = {640, 480}; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.3333; } "config\view\view.lua" : -- Camera view angle limits {view angle min, view angle max}.
