siraccord Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 What is your favorite loadout for the SU25-A? What weapons do you prefer as a general bombing/anti tank attack aircraft loadout. Thanks
Dr_Arrow Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 My most used loadouts: Anti-vehicle/CAS: 4x-S-8OFP/KOM+2xFuel, 16xFAB-100+2xFuel, 4xRBK-500+2xFuel, 4xS-24+2xFuel Bombing/ground attack: 2xS-25+2xFuel, 4xFAB-250+2xFuel, 4xFAB-500+2xFuel
King_Hrothgar Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Depends on what I expect to be shooting. I use S-24's for heavy armor, S-13's for light, S-8's for soft and bombs for structures. Given the short legs of the Su-25, I typically bring a pair of drop tanks on the inner most racks too. I don't find the guided weapons to effective in most situations, but they do have their niche uses. So with all that said, I run basically 4x Su-25 loadouts: 1) Full rack of S-24's + 2x drop tanks + 2x R-60 2) Full rack of S-13's + 2x drop tanks +2x R-60 3) Full rack of S-8's + 2x drop tanks + 2x R-60 4) Mix of precision weapons or bombs + rockets of some flavor + 2x drop tanks + 2x R-60 I typically don't mix rocket types as rockets are area of effect weapons only effective in volleys. For an Su-25A campaign mission, I'll read the briefing to know what kind of targets I'm hitting, select the appropriate rocket type and then try to let it all loose in 1 pass. The Su-25A is very much a get in and GTFO plane. It's not something you linger over the battlefield for 20 minutes in. 1
lmp Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 My favourite general purpose weapon is the S-25. S-24s do the job as well, but I like the added range. The exact number of them and whether I take drop tanks depends on the mission details. If the job demands it, I'll bring different weapons of course, but the heavy rockets give me plenty of flexibility in typical situations. 1
