Kayos Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Looks like the F-16V had it's first flight. Too bad the US probably won't be upgrading to it. http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/first-f-16v-flies-but-its-new-features-wont-show-up-on-1737987465 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Lt_Maverick Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I've read other similar reports. We're putting any extra cent into the 35. Really sucks. Lt_Maverick Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 First flight of F-16V You have to really wonder what they are thinking sometimes. Well it's all or nothing for the 35. There's no turning back. It HAS to succeed. Optimizing the 16 would undermine the 35. In a perfect world we'd SLEP all of the legacy fighters force-wide while simultaneously committing to the go with the 35. It almost reminds me of the Grand National and the Vette. GM did such a phenomenal job with the Grand National that people were putting a few grand into it and it was crushing the Vette. So they stopped producing the National.
