[CLOSED]Aircraft Behind Clouds Showing as Boxes

Hi,

 

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not so sorry if it has. I did look around and I'm sure I vaguely remember a thread about things showing as boxes but couldn't find it so don't remember what it was about.

 

Anyway, bascially, last night (before my DCS stopped working altogether) I was flying in ACG at around 6K feet when I spotted a couple of enemy aircraft about 2 - 3K feet higher than me and maybe a couple of NM out (possibly further - my range estimation sucks) who were just about to fly through / above a bank of cloud. From my position they were the size of full stops.

 

As I watched them go into / above the cloud I expected to lose sight of their little dots but I didn't. As soon as they were obscured by the cloud the dots were replaced by what I can only describe as blue boxes (about half the size of one of these forum smilies) the same colour as the sky surrounding the aircraft but in a way that made it look like they were cropped out of the clouds.

 

It's like wherever the enemy plane was behind this cloud, I could see a blue box the same colour as the sky but overlaid onto the cloud, almost like someone had cut a square out the cloud allowing me to see through it although I couldn't see the dots behind, just these blue squares wherever the enemy aircraft was.

 

I wish I had grabbed a screenie but I was so into my game I forgot. Not a couple of mins after observing that strange behaviour than I had an enemy BF on my tail and was busy taking crazy evasive action...

 

I'll keep an eye out for it again and if I see it again, I'll take a screen shot.

Also if anyone else notices the same thing, it would be good to know. Might be so subtle people haven't seen it yet - or it could just be a glitch my end.

Just wanted to update this post.

I've not seen this issue since I had to re-install DCS 1.5 the other day so it may have been something unique on my end.

 

Unless anyone else has experienced this, I guess this thread can be closed / deleted.
