As some of you are aware the 169th Panthers has not been recruiting new members due to Beta Testing commitments.

For a limited period we will take names as applicants to join the 169th Panthers. If you think you have "The right Stuff" to be a member of one of the longest established and most competitive virtual squadrons, then email me wgcdr@wearecomputers.com.au and give reasons as to why you should be considered as a Panther.

Applicants will be put through a cadet training program which will require study and practice to pass.

Applicants need to be Team Players. Meaning, Doing what the team wants. Not just your personal preferences. Over 18 years of age, have broadband connection a microphone to use with Teamspeak. Flying all aircraft from Frogs to Eagles. Being ready learn and fly all modes. Whether it be guns only to long range BVR. Heroes and Egos need not apply.

Important, Please note: If you think becoming a Panther will get you on the Beta Team, Forget it. There is absolutely no chance of any new ED Testers coming from the 169th Panthers.

For those that get put on "The program" I wish you best of luck. Be warned History has proven that only about 1 in 6 Cadets actually get their wings.

Good luck to anyone who applies, and remember to be a team player. You wouldn't want to be let loose cause you didnt like gunzo or fly the 25/25T :music_whistling:. this is a very good squad and the memebers are great. But like any squad there are some problems. :banned: and dont :argue: but I'm just :ranting: I guess I wouldn't know.

Good luck :shocking:

Hmmm...not to really bag on you guys, but I guess that's why its a "virtual" squadron, and not a real one. Your pilots would never be aggressive enough to win if they weren't friggin' fired up as all hell about their job, and their aircraft, in a real squadron.

On the contrary, learning to fly all of the aircraft in lockon is making me a far better pilot. Understanding the opposing sides equipment and tactics is also a vital part of real world fighter pilot training.

The pilots in our squadron are aggressive enough to win and "friggin' fired up as all hell about their job, and their aircraft" (each and every one of them). They are consistantly excellent pilots in ALL aircraft and that is why it is a pre requisite of membership to our squad. One that I whole heartedly agree with. Sure it takes commitment to learn to fly and fight in all AC proficiently but that is exactly why I joined the 169th in the first place.

They are a bunch of excellent pilots, I would hate to fly against them and I have many times before. You try it and see what the end results are. :v:

I did a quick summing up of my way of thinking at 45 , and, unfortunately came to the conclusion that although I fly every aircraft, know their strengths and weaknesses, and as far as LO is concerned, am tactically disciplined I would not be suitable to become a cadet in your Sqn, now, if you had a virtual NATO ACO Tactical Leadership Program I would be more than interested ;)

I didn't know you could volunteer to become a beta-t, I thought you were invited to become one.
