Hi Guys,

Quite a hefty item on the wishlist unfortunately, but recently I went hunting on the forum for ideas for new static objects I thought that it would be best to do some forum housework and compile those that I can remember (plus some of my own) into one list. (Feel free to add below )

Right here we go...

  • The ability to group static objects
  • A template static object for FOBs and FARPs etc (Ideally this should have a 'level to terrain function' similar to adding buildings in Outerra/Anteworld so that a FOB is always level - obviously if you go placing FOBs on mountains and peaks this may cause an issue)
  • A remodel/re-texture of existing static objects to put them on par with the quality of other aspects in DCS World
  • Static objects that are unique to a country (a Russian FARP Ammo depot should differ from an American one for example).
  • More static objects: HESCO barriers, Fences, Lights, Flags, Different Tents, Shelters, Communications, Different Hangers, Different Heliports, Improvised Runways, Different Cargos etc.
  • Advanced waypoint actions for static objects (in the example of a light, the light should turn on after a set time and turn off after a set time etc).
  • Functionality to static objects - this is really applies for the FARP Ammo, Command and Fuel Depots which unlike the Ammunition Depot under the warehouse category is only purely cosmetic. Also for the command post which maybe a possible position for a tactical commander for combined arms where all forces and information is visible.
  • The ability to physically see a silhouette or a proper representation of objects in the Mission Editor (the same applies for everything really) - EDIT: In development already
  • Deployable static objects - static objects that can be unpacked adding a huge logistical aspect to DCS World (imagine sling-loading a cargo, unpacking it and then moving it into place with a forklift for example - you could make an FOB without relying on the mission editor.

Now obviously I'm sure we'd all rather let ED fix up 1.5 and release 2.0 before doing this ^ but hopefully, maybe this could be considered in the future :)

Again, if there's an item I've missed please feel free to add below.

Cheers,

Ollie

Have you ever tried combined arms and drive near a landmine? They are functional, unfortunately placing too many is as bad as placing too many troops.

I must be very bad at driving over land mines - or just horrific at placing them

I'll try this out and if I find they do actually work I might do a facepalm so loud its gonna wake my neighbours up :D

There is also a mod pack for HESCO baskets, concertina wire, and many other static objects. unfortunately if all the players do not have the mod pack they will not see them. I really wish DCS would implement them across the board. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121620

I think you can actually include them in the .miz file, but I've never actually tried it.

Well, I'll give it a shot. I know mods existed but I heard that some may cause issues in multiplayer and so forth - but I'll give it a go. Thanks Reaper6! :)
