Namakan Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I just recently picked up the huey, however my door gunner viewpoint is from this position. Is there a fix for this? :helpsmilie: I'm on DCS 1.5
zaelu Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 make sure you don't have any mod that affects the view... most notably "PeterP realistic neck" mod does that as it has info on how the UH1H crew views should be placed and modified after an older version of UH1H. Flagrum Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I can confirm this - default eye positions are off for the door gunners. The new(?!) separation of view axis and gun axis is also not perfect, yet. see here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2539043&postcount=2

zaelu Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Your files are identical with mine. I can't remember where I've seen discussion about something similar and the solution was to disable the mouse aim and revert to headtracking aim (which I use). It seems that the implementation of mouse axis for gunners has some problems. I also have cockpit mouse disabled via view.lua file from \DCS World OpenBeta\Config\View\ edit OK, I gave it a try. I activated the mouse aim by disabling the headtracking aim in special option for UH1H I changed the axis for gunner from view to aim and also removed the Z axis for zoom. Now it works okeish but the head is too much up and you can't look down the sight unless you look down... which is most of the time where you should aim but I was testing it on the ground. What needs to be reduced is the FOV angle which is way too big and the image is skewed like heck and maybe the eye point moved downwards via snapview 13 settings. zaelu Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Sorry for double post... just to bump a bit this with news. I made modifications to views.lua from UH1H folder and now works good but with a twist... As long as you first jump from pilot to copilot then to a gunner then back to pilot (or copilot) then back again to one of the gunners is OK. If you jump from Pilot to one of the gunners or If you jump from one gunner directly to the other gunner or You press twice the same key for one gunner (like 3 and 3 again) Then... you will encounter a strange situation where the view jumps to an useless position. To recover from bad position you have two options: 1. you keep pressing 3 or 4 until the view goes back to almost original good position or... 2. you change the aircraft then go back to UH1H. Here is how the essential places from modified views.lua files look in the gunner sections. I attached my views.lua but keep in mind mine has modifications also to pilot and copilot (mainly field of vision is reduced from the exorbitant 135 to 105.
