version 1.5 open beta, last update.

GUV-800 (30mm ags pod) does not fire. Went through all the steps - master arm is on, safety off, Guv selector on GUV800. Pressing the trigger does not fire the pod, nothing happens.

Other GUV pods, Rockets and UPK work fine.

here you are, hope i managed to photograph all the needed equipment.

In this situation, pressing the trigger does not make the pod start firing.

Ok now I know what the problem is. You have GUV800 pods mounted on the MID pylons. However, in your screenshots you have the GUV Payload Selector switch (the switch under the grey cap to the right of the GUV Fire Selector Switch) set to 624/622+800. This makes the weapon system expect machinegun pods to be mounted on the mid rails, which you dont have. Setting the GUV Payload Selector switch to 800 will indicate grenade pods loaded on the mid pylons and you will be able to fire.

On a side note:

There are only certain combinations of weapons allowed on the Mi-8. These are listed on page 181 of the manual. The rearm menu however lets you choose whatever you want on any pylon. This can lead to incompatibilities with the weapon system. Setting the GUV Payload Selector switch to 800 means you are carrying pure grenade pods (mid and outter pylon), while setting it to 624/622+800 (which is the default setting)means you are carrying MG pods on the mid pylons and GL pods on the outter pylons. The other way around (GL mid pylon and MG outter pylon) will not work because the weapon system can only handle the former configuration. Generally, if something doesnt fire with master arm on its likely due to wrong stuff on the wrong pylons.

thanks mate; the problem I had was just the one you described. Setting the capped selector to 800 makes the agl pods work correctly.

This helicopter is really awesomely rendered in DCS - having this kind of "issues" only shows once more that the devs did not compromise on realism, writing this simulator.
