DieHard Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 P-51 twin drop tanks ============= On ramp, before take-off, I fill the internal tanks to 50%, then add 2 external drop tanks. The rear gage behind the pilot's seat reads empty. Does the fuel flow automatically from the drop tanks to the wing tanks until they are empty or do they need to be manually switched? I do not see any way to monitor how much fuel is remaining in the drop tanks. What is the purpose of having the option to manually switch between the 2 external drop tanks? I have not flown the Mustang in a long time, reacquainting myself with her. I probably knew this info couple years ago, but I have forgotten. The WWII MP servers, now, are usually overpopulated with the German planes, so figure I'll take a Mustang out to even it out. Thanks for any help. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 DieHard, the manual, pp 38, 39, says there is no way to measure the fuel quantity on the combat drop tanks, so, I guess it's got to be by feeling.... Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
saburo_cz Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 You have any information about how much fuel remains in drop tanks. You must select which fuel tank will be used, and from it fuel will be pumping. Engine pumps fuel from only one tank, so two possitions for drop tanks are here.
