Someone hint me how to avoid aim-54c from f-14??

You know, aim-54C has extremely fast speed,

Especially in mid-range BVR, there's almost no chance to avoid damm aim-54c!

I drive su-27/33.

Plz help

It's like cheating.

If close enough that it is in terminal guidance, just outmanoeuver the missile, it can't turn

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea, tried that before against AIM-54s in here and it doesn't work... :(

Crank away when you think the other guy has shot, go to the beam when the missile goes pitbull and (IMPORTANT PART HERE! -->) SPAM CHAFF! :joystick:

25-60 chaff should do the trick.

If you are low and fast, you can outmanoeuver it like you'd do with a aim9, at least you could in 1.2, maybe they changed it?

Not sure if they changed it, last I tested was in 1.2 IIRC :)

The AIM-54 is one of the easier missiles to deal with. Note that it uses SFM flight model, so it does not easily bleed speed. Do not try to bleed energy. To defeat it, pull maxium g when it is approaching. It can't turn with a fighter.

How about aim-54 that launched less than 10km??

I can hardly believe there's someone who can easly avoid aim-54 within 10km launched.

I would break turn as fast as I can to put the missile on my 3 or 9 o'clock while diving and spamming chaff, recommend 40-90 chaff for a good chance of defeating the missile, if that doesn't work, maximum instant G pull up into the missile.

The Aim-54's flight envelope is so bad due to its energy that a simple break into the missile and chaf/flare dump will usually confuse it. The trick is to keep it on your 3 or 9 and know when to break and dump. Locsta's F-pole manoever explains it very clearly. YouTube it. It's out there.
