Convert Su-25T mission to use with A-10A?

There is an Instant Action mission for the SU-25T that I would like to convert to use with the A-10A that I recently bought. The mission name is "Target Practice", but I guess it would apply to the others in the Instant Action menu.

I'm running DCS World 1.5 Open Beta.

Is there a way to import it into the Mission Editor and change the aircraft type, but keep the rest of the mission the same? I'll need details on how to do it, so please point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi Mike,

That mission file is simply named "Su-25T.miz".

Open the mission editor from the main menu, and click on the little open file icon in the upper left. From there just click on the Su-25T folder in the left pane of the window, choose "Quickstart", and select "Su-25T.miz".

I'd recommend you do a Save-As so you don't accidentally overwrite the original mission, but from there you can simply select the player's airplane (the red "A" south of the targets), and change the country to USA, then select A-10A as the airplane type. You'll then need to choose your loadout as normal (it defaults to empty).

Be aware that all the targets are Georgian, so you'll be attacking friendly units. But as long as that doesn't bother you, you should be good to go! :)

Thank you very much! I will give it a try and report back.

Rep on the way when I get to my PC (I'm on my phone right now).

Convert Su-25T mission to use with A-10A?

Another thought... This is a little more advanced, but I wonder if I could add some non-Georgian targets out there on the island. So I won't have to attack friendlies. It's really just target practice so it's no big deal. Just gives me another goal for learning the mission editor.

Obviously, I'm brand new at this and have SO MUCH to learn. I'll be getting the A-10C soon and things will really get crazy

Just following up on my original question.

Per the instructions I got in this thread, I was able to edit the mission. But I never would've figured it out because the filename didn't match the mission name shown in the sim. Thanks again NoJoe!

So, I have the A-10C now; changed the mission for the A-10C and made the following changes too:

paint scheme to MD Air National Guard

targets to Russian,

enemy skill level to average

mission start for a runway start at Kobuleti

set new waypoints (although, I haven't gotten into waypoint navigation much at all).

So far, no snags:)

Thanks again to NoJoe and grunf! I really appreciate the help!
