markturner1960 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Hi, have installed 1.5, when I start it, I get some swirling clouds and can open the setting from the button, however, there is no "apply" or "OK" button to accept them on the window.... Also, it wants to update when I start, but everytime, it says the server is busy and wont. I have tried this multiple times ate various times of day, same result... Any help to sort this? Thanks, System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
weeb Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Mark Hang in there m8. I was trying since Friday night. I kept getting the same issue and when I was downloading A10-C for my development machine, kept getting 1.5 update and A10-c update failures. It did flag up one message on my firewall rule (Zone alarm) and I certified the update exe. 1600hrs today uk, it just flew in. Eagle dynamics servers do work well. I have a 200 meg pipe into the house and I was getting 130. I had the same issue, it just hung and the game would not start until I had completed the partial download which had failed. Try round about 1600hrs our time. awjudge Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Have a look in c:\users\*username*\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\options.lua In there, you'll find a section called 'Graphics'. Change the Height and Width settings to the native resolution of your monitor.
sslechta Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Sounds like your screen resolution may be set so that the buttons are off to the side. You could try setting the resolution lower/higher in the following file: C:\Users\[WinUserName]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\options.lua Steve (Slick) ThrustMaster T.Flight Hotas X | TrackIR5 Pro | EVGA GTX 1070 | Win10 64-bit Professional | Dell Precision 7920 Workstation | 1 TB SSD | 128 GB Memory | Dual Intel Xeon Platinum 2.0 GHz 16 Core Processors (64 Total w/HT ON) | 24" Dell Monitor
sslechta Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Nice awjudge.... Posted right before me. markturner1960 Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Thanks guys, I dont have that file structure... My game is installed as follows C/Eagle dynamics/DCS World open beta I did find the file mentioned by searching my machine though, the resolution was set correctly there, at 3840 x 2160 I noticed occulus rift was set to true ( set to false in my normal dcs world install), so changed to false, but still no joy.... This is very frustrating. The resolution in the GUI is actually set correctly as well, I guess it picked that up automatically when it installed, but I can see from the size of the gui compared to the GUI on the non beta version, that it is not displaying at that resolution, its all much bigger, maybe 2160 x 1600........ ENO Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I'm working through this issue as well. I have been out of the loop for awhile so getting back into this is frustrating. This is a really, really stupid problem. I have exactly the same issue- I try to go in and change resolutions but can't reach any "apply" button. I've gone through the proposed file structure above but the only .lua there is the network vault one. Sorry it's such a ridiculous question... but really? ugh. ENO Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Okay. So I've tried a couple of things. I tried deleting the saved games folder in hopes that it would rewrite with the options.lua mentioned above. Nothing- still only have the network.vault. I tried importing my 1.2x options into the config folder and that made it worse. The options.lua must be somewhere... did it move? Where is DCS getting its monitor settings from? My NVIDIA control panel is set to fit my monitor... is it getting info from my windows desktop settings and then the NCP is switching it halfway? (nevermind- checked windows settings and they were the same as NCP) This is what I worried about trying to get back into it after so long- I remember all the messing around a person needs to do just to lift it off if ANYTHING is out of stock just a smidge. EDIT: Solved. Okay... so I went and had a little cry and then wiped away the tears and went back at it. I don't recall where I saw it but there was something mentioned in another thread about going into the properties of a shortcut, into "compatibility" and then into "disable display scaling on high DPI settings." I tried to find that last night but must not have been looking close enough. I went back in there today and found it... clicked it and now the game loads fine at the proper resolution that allows for me to see the OK button in settings. That appeared to be the key I was missing. I had it in windowed mode as well- but it looks fine in full screen mode. Hope this helps someone out along the way.
