I have the version DCS World 1.5.1 Beta

Please tell me, is it worth to add some mods, for example this one :

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=115359

The graphic under 1.5.1 looks great

I don't want to make it looks worse

Thank you

Of course it will always be a matter of opinion but I have tried all the terrain mods in the past 2 years and in my opinion the current default terrain in the 1.5 beta is the best I have seen and I have no plans to make a change. The only exception is the mountains textures I have stolen from Barthek's terrain mod. It's awesome!

So, would you advice to change the mountains textures ?

Thank you.

I just can't wait to get the joystick ( Thrustmaster 16000 M )

With the mouse it's pretty hard to fly

LE : Do i have to download / change all those 5 files ?

What is the option means " model enlargement " ?

Wait until you get the joystick and learn how to fly an aircraft of your choosing before you become concerned with mods. Model enlargement is an option that makes air and ground units appear larger and easier to see from the cockpit.

You right, Blooze

Meanwhile, i try different settings ( ingame / nVidia control panel )

I turned off and on the HDR, but couldn't notice some difference.

As well with MSAA.

I tried 16xQ and 4x, couldn't see some worse or better image / details

There are some settings, i don't understand exactly what they do

Like :

Res. of cockpit displays

Preload Radius

Cockpit visual reckon mode

Padlock

Permit Crash RCVR

Some cockpits have tv screens or lcs screens like A-10C, Ka-50 or A-10A and SU25T. Those screens are actual other rendered images super imposed on the big one and you can alter their resolution. Each frames means if there are 2 monitors they don't share the resolution.

Preload means how much terrain data around your plane is preloaded in memory. If you have 8-16GB you can go to maximum. SSD also helps in removing almost completely any stutter when jumping across the map with F2 camera or F11 etc.

Cockpit visual recon is some sort of arcade feature where you can mark targets in that mode by pressing middle mouse button. Like in Battlefield let say where you spot for your team an enemy.

Padlock is an old arcade like feature or useful in movie making. Your camera (be it your pilot view or an external camera) is pad locked to another object... plane vehicle etc. So you don't lose sight of it.

Permit crash recover... pretty self explanatory. If you crash you can jump back in the cockpit pretty close to where you crashed to continue the mission. Like in Super Mario Brothers.
