Nooch Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Hi! My Ch pedals have a little bit of noise so when my brakes should in theory be released, they remain slightly actuated in the sim. To solve this problem I wanted to set a deadzone but I can't! As I need to have "invert axis" checked at the same time, the deadzone is created for the higher portion of the axis (i.e when the brakes are fully actuated). So how can I create a deadzone for the lower portion of the axis instead? Please :helpsmilie: It's bugging the hell out of me right now. When I take off in a plane that has differential brakes, the noise, being usually unevenly spread, makes the plane turn left or right on it's own... Many thanks for any help on the subject. grunf Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Try the User curve, something like this: Experiment with the sliders until you get the result you want. It should work... :D
Nooch Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) Thanks man issue fixed! Fiddling with the custom curve, I managed to set a deadzone where I wanted :) The last digits starting from the right were 100, 98, 85, 73, 61. Left digits being 0, 10, 20... That gave me a little deadzone and the rest kinda of a straight line, that I guess I will customize further to get more something like a curve as the Sabre breaks are a little bit touchy. :joystick: I'd still be glad to see ED giving us the option to choose whether the deadzone is at the bottom or at the top of the axis. We wouldn't have to mess with the curve and it would give us a nice straight line right away. Edited November 29, 2015 by Nooch [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rangi Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 You can also use a utility like dxtweak2 to get your axis fine tuned. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
theGozr Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 dxtweak2 just keep crashing under W10 :( good little software used long ago Fly it like you stole it..
Mar Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) You do not need to do anything special for this. When you check invert the axis is displayed incorrectly, but will still behave as you expect in the sim. Set all other options/deadzone first so you can use the visual aid then check invert last. Honestly, DCS has one of the best axis assignment and tuning interfaces of all the games I know. It just gets a little confusing when you check invert. :) Just noticed you were tuning brakes for the Sabre. I brought down one of the saturation sliders to 30 or 35 to make it so the brakes will max out at 30/35% with my pedals all the way down. The brakes never lock up for me now. I'll check my game settings when I get a chance and post exactly what I did for you. Edited December 1, 2015 by Mar From the shadows of war's past a demon of the air rises from the grave. Mar Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It was saturation Y down to 30. From the shadows of war's past a demon of the air rises from the grave. "Onward to the land of kings—via the sky of aces!"
