Exorcet Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I build a new computer for DCS2 (see below). Including new HOTAS, TM Warthog. I was looking at the X55, but reviews drove me to the TM. I've liked the stick for a long time and it is definitely a quality product, but it has always had a flaw. It's an attack aircraft HOTAS and I prefer fighters. My main problem is that radar control in the F-15 is poor. There is no really good way to control elevation. I'm using the throttle mic hat right now, but it's a bit too sensitive. I want something like the rotaries on my old X52 (which I still have with a working throttle, but not all the buttons still work, plus the throttle is no where near as accurate as the TM's). Does anyone have suggestions on a good throttle to pair with the TM stick? In particular I'm looking for something that will go well with the F-15 and future F-14/18/5, and other fighters. I'd also like the quality to be similar to Warthog level. Price is not a big issue right now. Thanks. Mtnbiker1998 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I've never owned one, but the Thrustmaster Cougar is based off the F-16 HOTAS. Could that throttle be better suited to your needs? Maybe someone who owns the cougar would have a better opinion. Sokol1_br Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Try find a Cougar TQS, this model have 2 rotaries and mini-stick. Will be need the TUSBA adapter to use standalone. In true are only 2 models of standalone throttle available in the market: CH PRO throttle - no rotaries and use obsolete 8 bits electronics. Gametrix ECS - low cost model but with contactless sensor in throttle axis, 2 rotaries and few buttons in 2 modes. Edited December 5, 2015 by Sokol1_br
TomOnSteam Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 The cougar is a good option, but it's so out of date now. I'm waiting for http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=104154 these guys to get someone up and running. It's looking very promising to me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
Exorcet Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 Thanks all, those F-18 add ons look promising. I'll watch out for that. I do wish my stores carried flight sim stuff, so you could try before buying. In the meantime, does anyone have recommendations on the best radar controls on the Warthog?
