stise Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hi all, I'm just getting back into flight sims and this DCS stuff is challenging my aging brain. After getting familiar with Black Shark a few years ago I was happy to hear that Flaming Cliffs 3 is suppose to be more accessible. Are there any simple missions that can help build confidence by completing basic operations. I've been focusing on the Su27 training missions however having to go through the lessons each time is getting old. Is there a way to advance the lessons? Are there any 'Easy' and basic missions that allow take-off, navigation, A2A or A2G, and then navigate a landing. I'm kind of overwhelmed. I'm surprised there isn't a more linear learning lessons that support not only instruction but a more enjoyable gameplay; especially while learning. I know there is a game in this sim somewhere... isnt there? Assuming the missions are add ons can somebody tell me where I can find info on how to add missions to FC3 in Steam?
Cybermat47 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Instant action should have what you're looking for. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
stise Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Thanks you for replying. I'd like to have an easier mission than those included. Specifically a mission that includes take-off, navigation, A2G, (or A2A) and navigate return and land. I'll keep looking but as of yet the missions end in a predictable fireball. I believe the sim needs some scaling of difficulty with a focus on learning and having fun for us mortals. Once I'm comfortable on to MP.
Exorcet Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) To add a mission to the game, just save the mission to the missions folder. You can find missions on the Users Files section: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?PER_PAGE=100&arrFilter_pf[filetype]=&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=Sabre-TLA&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter The link will list missions by Sabre TLA, some of which might fit what you're looking for as they are training missions. Note some are pay for, some are free. Also have you tried the mission editor at all? Setting up a basic mission shouldn't be too difficult and you can also try editing existing missions to suit your needs. Tello Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 This is what you need. I highly recommend the TNN missions. just read the briefing, load some weapons and you are good to go. There are 3 zones on the map/mission with easy, medium and hard targets for ground. for the su-27 flanker visit youtube and get a fast idea on how people use their radar, countermeasures and so on. Be aware there might be some conflicts between 1.2.6 created missions and 1.5.1 client. But the one I just tried out worked fine. Have fun :hehe: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
grunf Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 You should try the mission editor. Setting up a simple mission is easy, it only takes a few minutes once you're comfortable with it.
j.sabo12 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 You could always create your own mission. The mission editor is actually very simple to use for basic missions, i.e. setting your start location and route and a basic route for the enemy/ground targets. You can also modify existing missions from single missions/campaigns and delete some enemy groups if it's too difficult for you and play from the mission builder. If there's any Boeing 737 NG instructor at Simulator Centrum in Bratislava, Slovakia
grunf Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Here's a very simple mission I created for myself sometime ago, just for fun. You don't have any waypoints, but there's an EWR to guide you. :D No description either or anything fancy, like I said it was just a quick mission I made for myself.su27_intercept3.miz
