Help ED... Korean Font Problem

Hi guys! I want to inform some Korean font problem for korean dcs community.

ED added Korean font in DCS 1.5. We are appreciate that, but there is some big problem when we type the korean in DCS World. The problem is when we write the consonants and vowels together, we cannot see it. Korean and English are quite different. Korean is composed of consonants and vowels are combined. (e.g 나, 너, 우리, 안녕 not like english e.gㄴㅏ, ㄴㅓ, ㅇㅜㄹㅣ, ㅇㅏㄴ ㄴㅕㅇ)

 

We are always appreciate to ED! If you guys need some screenshot or question please let me know reply down below

Hmm. I think this is a matter that you(ED) should be consider.

There are many DCS users in South Korea.

There are quite lots of people who have interest about flight sim in Korea. Many peoples bought DCS and play it already. If ED support Korean language, it will make quite good result I think.

Korean Font in DCS series

 

Dear Eagle Dynamics Developers,

 

Several years ago, I asked Wags to implement Korean font in Flaming cliffs.

Because the Korean players were unable to chat in Korean font. It was really needed from then.

 

At that time Wags explained Asian fonts were then difficult for the developers to include in the Flaming cliffs.

 

But now, the developers are trying to localize the DCS series in Chinese language.

So please help the Korean players to be able to play and chat and make mission files and training tracks in Korean.

 

When I asked the Korean font in Flaming Cliffs were in the age of Windows Xp I presume and now it is Windows 10.

If the developers are able to implement Korean fonts in the game, more Korean Gamers will be able to familiarize with DCS series and become DCS manias. Due to language barriers the Korean Gamers are difficult to become DCS players.

Many Many Korean youngsters are League of Legends manias, if they are unable to play and chat in Korean they would not start playing the game firstly.

 

There are Korean enthusiasts about DCS series from long time ago, they produced Korean manuals and sell products. I hope you can understand this situation.

Korean fonts implementation in DCS will help in many ways. Please consider this seriously.

ED added Unicode support already. So, it's not a problem support Korean language.

 

But, ED use FREE fonts, which may not be friendly with some language.

The easy way is replacing DCS fonts with your windows system fonts.

 

If Korean players wanna DCS localized, I suggest you guys do some teamwork, like the Chinese localization team.

 

Nice to see more EastAsia guys pop up.

currently, DCS never added Korean font. The added Fonts only support Chinese and Japanese

since Hangul is no longer used in droid fonts fallbackfull

I will take a look at the font issue

OK, for Korean players, I have updated the fonts for CJK used in DCS.

 

I need your help to test those Korean chars in mission briefing, MP chat etc (as much as you can). And I also need your feedback, whether there are missing Korean char etc

 

 

Install:

1. download the compressed file and unzip it
2. put all 5 files (1 lua, 4 ttf, 1 txt) to 'DCS install path\dxgui\skins\fonts\' (replace orig ones, if asked)
3. try chat in MP
