SkateZilla Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) I'm Looking into some deeper things, but this is what I have and it currently works for me, with some small exceptions, which I will note at the end. Basically, I AM running TWO MSI R7970 Lightnings in Xfire. (3rd one is disabled right now). First, Here's My AMD Software Version Info: Second, Make sure any FPS Limiters are turned off in CCC or 3rd Party Applications: Third, Here's My MAIN SYSTEM Settings: Fourth, Here's My DCS.EXE Profile Settings: And Lastly, My DCS Video Settings is also Attached (it's a 1440p image, so i wont embed it). Now, The Circumstances, Once in game w/ Cockpit visible, briefing screen and at the Press Pause / Break / Start, To Verify XFire is Running Unpause, then Pause Again, Use Application to Monitor Each GPU Usage and Clock Speed. You Should be using a good deal of the GPU0, and None of GPU1 at this point. Note your Cockpit (F1) and External (F2) FPS, waiting for them to stabilize after switching views. Switch back to Cockpit View, Allow FPS to Stabilize (wait 5 or so seconds) Press Either LALT + ENTER or RALT+ENTER. Screen should toggle from Borderless Windowed, to Exclusive Fullscreen. You should notice immediately GPU1 is now in Full 3D Clocks instead of Idle 300/500MHz, (If Not, then Something is Not setup correctly in AMD CCC or Windows Power Settings) For me, My Cockpit FPS Stayed Roughly the Same, and GPU0 went from 80% Usage to GPU0 Being 40% and GPU1 Being 40%, meaning the work was divided evenly across both GPU's Switching to External View, my FPS Doubled, and both GPU's steadily rose and stayed at 99% Usage. Now, I'm still looking to make sure some type of SYNC or Setting is not having an effect on Cockpit View Max FPS, or a driver setting I missed. But So Far, ALL Cockpit Views are limited in GPU Usage, This is the Part I Need other's to confirm, So I can pursue further. Also, I have tried other Aircraft, MFDs and screens off, etc etc. Also, Regards to FPS and GPU Usage, Just like w/ DCS 1.2/DX9, The more Objects in a Mission = More Draw Calls and More CPU Overhead More CPU Overhead = Lower GPU Utilization and Lower FPS. While the limits for this in DX11 are significantly Higher, I have been able to reach the point where my poor AMD FX CPU, even at 5+ GHz simply cannot process the DX Commands Fast enough. This involved At least Several Hundred F-15Es and AI Units in flight, among several hundred ground units.
