graphics card upgrade question

I am wanting to upgrade my card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102810 ) as it a few years old and quite under powered now. Im on a budget not looking for the best card out there but my main question is should i look for a bigger card memory wise? or a faster card?

 

if its helpful i have a core i-5 quad core 3.4 ghz and 8 gigs of ram.

oh and if any of you over achievers want to suggest a specific card the budget goal is under $100

What is your budget? Personally I buy al my pc parts on a secondhand site in Holland. It is like ebay. Cards like the r9 270 sells for around 200-225 euro's and the gtx 970 about 300 euro's. I dont know were you from and what the prices are in your country.

 

But it is up to you to choose. I personally have a hd 7950. This is a good card but not enough to play NTTR smooth all around the map(vegas it drops to 20).

I recommend checking Tomshardware.com and MaximumPC. Both have review sections that are fairly unbiased and performance based. (Maximum PC has flamed the products of sponsors so I think that's an honest review) Tomas hardware also list using visual "quality" vs pure persormance.
