[REPORTED] Buttons Flaps Up / Down - Gear Up / Down not working with single function?

Hi folks,

just installed the Mirage 2000. Now I was doing my standard config as I always do and have laid the Flaps Landing Pos and Flaps Up on two different buttons as well as Landing Gear Down and Up. However, the single switch (standard G Button) does work, even on the stick, but the single funtions (each function indivdually) does not.

Anyone else having this or is it a bug?

Plus this keys arent working:

Airbrake ON

Airebrake OFF

It does work the toogle Key: Airbrack ON/OFF (B on the keyboeard).

Separate FLAPS up and down Keys assigment also wont work if asigned to HOTAS.

Edit: It seems Flaps should be automatic. Airbrake bug allready reported.

Key Mapping on Warthog Throttle

Hallo,

i try to make my usual basic keymapping on my Warthog HOTAS. On the stick it´s working fine, but i got no keys working on my throttle.

For example i tried to map Airbreake on / off (LShift+B / LCtrl+B) on BTN 7/8.

Even pressing the keys does not move the airbreake...

Any hints?

Thanks

Christian

Please, check the flight manual included in aircraft folder. There is the list of assigments that should work. I guess other assigments are just from FC3 modules that will not be there in the final product.

LShift+B / LCtrl+B do not seem to work. Pressing B on it's own will raise/lower the airbrakes. I have assigned JOY_BTN8 to 'Airbrake' on my HOTAS throttle and it works fine.

Hope it helps.

Gear up/down works fine for me with a single push button. However, flaps do not work.

Gear up/down = G on the WH throttle (don't know the designation, but i mapped it to the L/G WRN button)

Airbrake out/in also works fine and is mapped to my WH Throttle

Ended up doing the same, but really wanted it on the FLAPS button. However it just doesn't seem to want to map to it correctly. Maybe to do with the fact it's a 3 position switch.

The 3-position switches on the TM Warthog, like the flaps switch, are implemented as two DirectX buttons. So when you move the flaps to the up position this is seen as pressing (and holding) a particular button. When you move flaps to middle, that button is released. When you move it to the down position, a different button is pressd (and held).

So with the standard mapping abilities exposed by most games and the DCS UI, you can only map the "flaps down" and "flaps up" positions, because the "flaps middle" isn't a button press, but a releasing of whichever button was previously being held down. Sometimes you'll have problems because the button is held down as well; but usually it works okay.

In DCS, you can get a lot of controls working with these kinds of switches by manually editing the LUA files that are used for the input configuration, and specifying an action for "button up".

Thanks for the clear explanation. What I tried was to start with the switch in the middle position and then switch it forward (JOY_BTN23), but it would take 3-4 switch actions (back to middle and forward again) before the switch would be recognised in the Add Assignment Panel, the same for switch back (JOY_BTN22). Regardless the landing gear in sim did not react to the switch being used on takeoff or landing.

I’m relatively new to DCS and though I know what you mean by the LUA files, I do not have enough experience yet to understand how the LUA files are structured or which files are associated with various functions. Need to learn more about the scripting language :music_whistling:
