Change Password

I was prompted to change my password, for numerous reasons, and a notification email came in from DCS. I tried to change my password but this came up "The password must contain at least 8 symbols, contain Latin uppercase letters (A to Z), contain Latin lower case letters (a to z), contain digits (0 to 9). The first part is very confusing "...must contain at least 8 symbols." Does that mean, e.g., ^%$#@^&*, actually 8 symbols in the password? I gave a password with 1 symbol, 1 number, 1 uppercase letter and 7 lowercase letters and it wouldn't take. What am I doing wrong?

The password must contain at least 8 symbols, contain Latin uppercase letters (A-Z), contain Latin lowercase letters (a-z), contain digits (0-9).

 

So you need an upper case letter and a lower and a number, 8 characters long

 

should be that simple
